3 men charged with murder after deadly carjacking attempt in DeLand
DeLAND, Florida. – Three men have now been charged with first-degree murder more than a month after a deadly attempted carjacking outside Florida Technical College.
John Torres, 22, Isaiah Thomas, 21, and Nassan Bacon, 22, have all been charged in the death of a man who was shot on May 22 and later died of his injuries.

Torres and Thomas were already in jail for another carjacking attempt at a Walmart in DeLand.
Bacon was arrested Thursday in New Smyrna Beach, according to a news release, where he had active warrants for his arrest for aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.
Deputies said Bacon was spotted on Thursday but fled when law enforcement tried to arrest him. The K-9 Sheriff’s Office was brought in to find Bacon.
Body camera video of his arrest shows the dog stalking Bacon hiding in the yard of a house. In the video, the dog bites Bacon’s leg before deputies handcuff him.
A woman is also facing charges related to the attempted carjacking outside of Walmart, the statement said.
Estella Luna, 24, was arrested in West Palm Beach, according to DeLand police. She faces charges of carjacking, burglary, assault and battery.
